More than a residence by the reservoir, Rancho Miranda is conceived as a place where architecture and nature become one, dissolving the boundaries between built form and landscape. Through carefully crafted pathways, immersive experiences, and moments of contemplation, the project reveals and celebrates the beauty of its surroundings.
Located on the shores of Miranda Reservoir in Uberlândia, Rancho Miranda emerges as a retreat designed for rest, gathering, and a deeper connection with nature. Set on a privileged site with expansive views of the water and the distant horizon, the residence establishes a continuous dialogue with the surrounding landscape. The experience of the place unfolds gradually. Along carefully designed pathways, a sequence of spaces alternates between moments of intimacy and openness, subtly revealing the landscape and transforming movement through the house into an integral part of the architectural experience.
Beneath a continuous glulam (glued laminated timber) roof, the spaces are organized in a fluid and integrated manner. Large openings dissolve the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, allowing natural light, vegetation, and the surrounding landscape to become part of the home’s daily experience. Pigmented concrete, glulam timber, rustic-finished granite, and native vegetation compose a restrained and timeless material palette, reinforcing the seamless integration between architecture and landscape.
In the outdoor area, the pool follows the contours of the garden and integrates naturally with the landscaping. Its infinity edge dissolves the boundaries between the pool water, the reservoir, and the horizon, enhancing the sense of continuity between architecture and nature.
Some spaces take on a more contemplative character. The corridor leading to the suites, defined by pigmented concrete and gardens integrated into the circulation path, transforms movement through the house into a sensory experience. Elsewhere, a private spa offers a secluded and welcoming retreat dedicated to well-being, tranquility, and disconnection from the rhythms of everyday life.
